About Us

More Than 80 Years of Manufacturing Experience

For more than 80 years, I.M. Manufacturing Corporation has been helping companies solve manufacturing challenges through precision narrow fabrics, industrial sewing, and custom assemblies. What began as a small manufacturing operation specializing in inmate apparel has evolved into a trusted domestic partner serving customers across a wide range of industries.

Today, we manufacture more than 1,200 standard products, produce thousands of custom assemblies, and support customers from initial prototypes through full-scale production. Throughout our history, one principle has remained constant: deliver dependable quality, responsive service, and practical manufacturing solutions that help customers succeed.

A Legacy That Began in the 1940s

Every company has a starting point. Ours began in the 1940s with a commitment to craftsmanship and dependable manufacturing.

As industries evolved, so did customer needs. Rather than focusing on commodity products, I.M. Manufacturing Corporation developed expertise in specialty narrow fabrics and sewn components where precision, consistency, and reliability matter most.

Over the decades, we’ve continually invested in new equipment, manufacturing processes, and engineering capabilities while maintaining the personalized service that has always defined our business.

1960-1980

Expanding Beyond Narrow Fabrics

Our experience with webbing, tapes, straps, and specialty narrow fabrics naturally expanded into complete manufactured products.

Customers increasingly needed more than raw materials – they wanted finished assemblies ready for installation or shipment. By adding industrial sewing, hardware integration, custom fabrication, and value-added assembly services, we became a single manufacturing partner capable of delivering complete solutions rather than individual components.

Today, our capabilities include a wide variety of materials, configurations, and production methods designed to meet diverse application requirements.

1980-2000

Expertise in Industrial Sewing and Custom Assembly

Industrial sewing is more than stitching materials together. It requires an understanding of materials, load requirements, durability, and repeatable manufacturing processes.

Our team produces custom sewn products using proven manufacturing methods that ensure consistent quality from the first article through high-volume production.

Whether assembling webbing products, integrating hardware, reinforcing stress points, or creating completely custom sewn assemblies, every project receives careful attention to detail and quality control.

Our experience spans thousands of custom manufacturing projects, giving customers confidence that even complex assemblies can be produced efficiently and consistently.

Working as an Engineering Partner

Many customers come to us with more than a print – they come with a challenge.

Our team works alongside engineers, purchasing professionals, and product designers to help identify practical manufacturing solutions, recommend appropriate materials, simplify production where possible, and improve manufacturability without compromising product performance.

Early collaboration often results in faster development, smoother production, and lower overall manufacturing costs.

Whether you’re refining an existing design or developing an entirely new product, we can support the process from prototype through production.

Built on Quality, Backed by Experience

Every order represents a commitment to our customer.

That means maintaining consistent manufacturing standards, carefully inspecting finished products, communicating throughout the production process, and delivering products that perform as expected.

It’s an approach that has allowed us to build long-term relationships with customers who rely on us not only as a supplier, but as an extension of their manufacturing team.
